The team at Community Transport are delighted to be working with the team at JustHelping supporting their Christmas Tree Recycling (@JustHelping) scheme which will in turn will support Compton Care, a local charity looking after people living with an incurable illness.

In January, our teams of Community Transport volunteers will be working in the WV3 9 and WV6 & 7 postcode areas of the West Midlands and picking up your old Christmas trees. They will then be taken to the recycling centre based at Compton Care, where they will be environmentally recycled.

So once the festive mood has gone and you’re snapped back into the reality of cleaning up the mess of the needles from the floor and taking the tree to the tip – take away this stress by signing up for the JustHelping #TREECYCLING scheme. For a donation, we will collect your tree on a designated day and take it to be recycled into compost for local farmers.

To book your Christmas tree collection simply log onto: www.just-helping.org.uk, enter your postcode and you will be taken to the booking page for Compton Care. All donations will go towards Compton Care www.comptoncare.org.uk. If your postcode is not listed, we’re sorry but we are not collecting in your area. This year is very much a trial run and hopefully, if the campaign is successful, we will extend the reach of the collection next year!

If all the above still hasn’t convinced you to have your Christmas tree recycled, why not take pride in the fact that you will be doing something amazing for charity. JustHelping work in partnerships with hospices, community groups, other charities and local businesses to coordinate Christmas tree collections. By simply registering your tree and making a donation towards the collection, you will be helping a local hospice.

Don’t forget to tick for GiftAid, so they can claim 25% of your donation back.
