Highlights of the last year
The Project continued to provide an excellent level of both passenger and furniture services despite the pressures of operating from cramped premises. There have been three major initiatives.

The Pupil Referral Service is Urban Bus Challenge funded until 2006. An increase in service has seen the welcome addition of a new Mercedes MPV and 2 more drivers. After 2 years, we now expect negotiations for a contracted service from 2006.

The Sandwell Compact uniquely includes a community transport policy in its policy document. The Project, with support from council officers, has produced a series of policy challenges for local community debate.

We're also making strategic moves to place the Project on Sandwell's regeneration agenda through the Arc of Opportunity regeneration zone. An approach was made in early 2005 for new services from larger premises. It's early days, but our Project is now a potential flagship scheme within their Wheels to Work vision.
